Marco Lucchesi "Vivere in Tessuto"
It all began in 1897. Guido Lucchesi founded the family company after gaining experience working on hand looms. In 1914 the factory already occupied its present location in via Carradori close to Piazza Macelli. In 1938 the company reached 500 employees. The Lanificio Fratelli Lucchesi faced the bombings of 1944 and was then divided among Guido's children in 1949. Umberto was still very young when he started working in Via Carradori. His son Marco began his journey alongside his grandfather in 1962. The three sons, Emanuele, Niccolò and Matteo, worked in the company with their father until 2017, the year of his death.
Lucchesi is a place of memory, training and production. A dynamic space where you can do research and find new inspiration. A visionary journey through unique fabrics and yarns: true masterpieces destined to last over time. In the Prato headquarters, close to the ancient city walls, over 100 years of collections are preserved in a private archive exclusive for location, contents, immense variety of articles and garments present. Every season the collections are enriched with technical innovations linked to the type of fibers used, the creativity of the fabrics offered and the finishes.
The designer finds in the company a point of reference from the first moment of the creative process, support in research and experimentation. Times have changed, but Lucchesi is still there, in the same headquarters founded by Guido Lucchesi, who has accompanied all the evolutions of the factory and fashion since the beginning of the 20th century.
A history of innovation that is renewed from generation to generation, leaving its mark on the best collections around the world for over a century.
