Walter Albini: the talent, the designer
Prato stands out as a cultural center rich in facets, and the extraordinary exhibition "Walter Albini: the talent, the designer" is a tangible confirmation of this.
In addition to being a place steeped in centuries of sacred and profane history, with the marvelous cathedral and the pride of the Emperor's castle dominating the ancient city squares, Prato is renowned for being the beating heart of the Italian fabric. The city hosts, within its ancient walls, the Textile Museum, famous at national and European level for the conservation and promotion of ancient and contemporary textile production.
The exhibition is held inside this important museum, housed in a restored former shearing mill. It will be open to the public from 23rd March to 30th November 2024 and was born from research and the desire to bring to light the work of an artist otherwise little known to the general public.
The exhibition offers the visitor the opportunity to learn about the professional life of Walter Albini, stylist and artist who left an indelible mark on fashion from the 1960s to the 1980s. Through graphic materials and creations of clothes, accessories and fabrics, often original and never exhibited, the path of a true creative genius is outlined.
We therefore invite you to choose the most suitable day and let yourself be transported into a world of magic at the Textile Museum. For further information, visit the website: https://www.museodeltessuto.it/en/exhibitions/walter-albini-designer/
