Cabbage with slices of bread

Cabbage with slices of bread is a classic Tuscan winter appetizer. This simple dish, rooted in tradition, comes to life thanks to black cabbage, which becomes particularly tender and tasty after being touched by night dew. Every bite is a blast from the past, a reminder of a period when extraordinary culinary delights were created with simple ingredients.

Preparation

Cook the black cabbage in plenty of salted water. In the meantime, toast the bread slices, then season them with salt, pepper and, if you prefer, garlic.

Wet the slices of bread with the cabbage cooking water, then on each of them place a spoonful of previously boiled beans and, subsequently, the well-drained cabbage.

Season everything with plenty of extra virgin olive oil.

Cabbage with slices of bread is an authentic Tuscan culinary experience, celebrating winter flavors and local tradition. Enjoy your meal!
