The Etruscan necropolis of Prato Rosello, identified in 1966, is one of the four archaeological areas included in the Archaeological Park of Carmignano. This ancient burial site is home to numerous tombs, dating back to the late 8th to 6th centuries BC.

The necropolis stands on a slope of the Artimino hill, along the road that connects the Medici Villa to the village of Poggio alla Malva, and offers a beautiful panorama of the surrounding countryside. A path surrounded by greenery, easily practicable, leads to the excavation area. Numerous mounds are still clearly visible thanks to their characteristic hemispherical shape.

Among the identified tombs, the so-called Warrior's Tomb (8th-7th century BC) stands out, found intact in Tumulus B thanks to its well shape, and the tomb of Tumulus C, accessible through a very well preserved staircase and with a rectangular chamber. In the latter, a precious bucchero censer from the 7th century BC was found, currently preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Artimino.
