The Boschetti Tumulus is a wonderful testimony to the ancient Etruscan civilisation. Dating back to the 7th century BC, this archaeological site was discovered in 1965. The mound dominates the last curve of the road leading to Comeana (in the municipality of Carmignano) with its imposing archaeological monument. Despite the damage suffered over time, it welcomes you with a short downward dromos, barred by a majestic slab of sandstone, which delimits access to a small rectangular room, functional as a vestibule. From here, you reach the funerary cell, closed by a large slab. The burial chamber, paved with cut polygonal slabs, will transport you back in time, allowing you to live an authentic Etruscan experience.
The findings from the tomb are now kept in the Etruscan Archaeological Museum of Artimino.
